Janice A. Radway is a prominent scholar in American Studies, literary theory, and cultural studies. She is best known for her influential work Reading the Romance (1984), which helped shape feminist cultural criticism. Radway has taught at institutions such as Duke University and Northwestern University, where she served as chair of the American Studies department.
