Kenneth Paul Tan is a Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University’s Academy of Film, where he teaches courses in film, media, and cultural studies. He was previously a faculty member at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, where he also served as Vice Dean. His research spans Singapore studies, political communication, cultural policy, and media. Tan has published widely on topics such as national identity, popular culture, and the politics of aesthetics in Singapore. He is known for his critical yet constructive engagement with issues of governance, power, and society in contemporary Asia.
